 কালবৈশাখি ঝড়ে তছনছ হতে পারে ৪ বিভাগ

চলতি মাসের মাঝামাঝি বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ওপর দিয়ে শিলা ও বজ্রবৃষ্টিসহ শক্তিশালী কালবৈশাখি ঝড় বয়ে যাওয়ার আশঙ্কা রয়েছে। বাংলাদেশে ঝড়ের তীব্রতা সবচেয়ে বেশি থাকবে রাজশাহী, ময়মনসিংহ, সিলেট ও রংপুর বিভাগের জেলাগুলোর ওপর।

সাসকাচুয়ান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আবহাওয়া ও জলবায়ুবিষয়ক পিএইচডি গবেষক মোস্তফা কামাল পলাশ ফেসবুক পোস্টে জানিয়েছেন, আগামী ১৫ মার্চ থেকে ১৯ মার্চ পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ওপর দিয়ে শিলা ও বজ্রবৃষ্টিসহ শক্তিশালী কালবৈশাখি ঝড় বয়ে যাওয়ার আশঙ্কা (৭০ থেকে ৮০ শতাংশের বেশি সম্ভাবনা) রয়েছে।

কালবৈশাখি ঝড়ের কারণে ওই সময় দেশের সব জেলায় বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। তবে কালবৈশাখি ঝড়ের তীব্রতা সবচেয়ে বেশি থাকবে রাজশাহী, ময়মনসিংহ, সিলেট ও রংপুর বিভাগের জেলাগুলোর ওপর। সবচেয়ে বেশি বজ্রপাতের ঝুঁকি রয়েছে ময়মনসিংহ ও সিলেট বিভাগের সব জেলায়, ঢাকা বিভাগের কিশোরগঞ্জ, চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া ও রাজশাহী বিভাগের রাজশাহী ও চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ জেলায়।

ওই সময় ঢাকা শহরের ওপর দিয়েও কালবৈশাখি ঝড় অতিবাহিত হওয়ার প্রবল সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। রংপুর, রাজশাহী, ময়মনসিংহ ও সিলেট বিভাগের অনেক জেলায় ৩০ থেকে ৭০ মিলিমিটার পর্যন্ত বৃষ্টির সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।

এদিকে সোমবার (১৩ মার্চ) আবহাওয়াবিদ আবদুল হামিদ সংবাদমাধ্যমকে জানান, আগামী দুদিন দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে বৃষ্টি ও বজ্রবৃষ্টি হতে পারে। তবে চট্টগ্রামের ওপর দিয়ে বয়ে যাওয়া মৃদু তাপপ্রবাহ কমে আসবে।

তিনি বলেন, দেশের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় তাপমাত্রা বেড়েছে এবং চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের ওপর দিয়ে বয়ে যাচ্ছে মৃদু তাপদাহ। তবে মঙ্গলবার (১৪ মার্চ) থেকে তা কিছু কিছু এলাকায় প্রশমিত হতে পারে।
